Hi. I’m a very process-oriented guy. These processes were designed to be relatively impartial, however, they are not perfect, nor are they “set in Stone” (pun intended). I’m certain they will change in the future. I already changed these processes countless times before I even began to put these matches up for public consumption.
Divisions & Groupings
Wrestlers are divided into two groups: Singles / Solo and Tag Teams. Being in one group does not exclude you from the other, however, typically a wrestler can only be in one tag team (well, except for the Conquistadors and Shadows… there’s one guy that was in both… so… whatever, I make the rules).
Singles / Solo
There are about 73 single/solo wrestlers that I’m using at the time of this writing. They are split up into three groupings: World Division, InterCon Division, Development Division.
World Division
This group consists of the World Champion and 8 other wrestlers. The 8 wrestlers will participate in a small tournament to determine who will get a title shot for the World Championship.
The 4 wrestlers that lose their Quarter-Final matches will have a chance to be relegated down (see Singles Relegation later).
InterCon Division
InterCon is short for Intercontinental. I do it like this because I’m lazy and don’t want to type the whole thing out.
This group consists of the InterCon Champion and 8 other wrestlers. The 8 wrestlers will participate in a small tournament to determine who will get a title shot for the InterCon Championship. Sounds like the World Division? Yep.
Relegation is handled a bit differently as both winners and losers have a chance to be relegated up and down (see Singles Relegation later).
Developmental Division
Didn’t know what else to call this. This division has the rest of the wrestlers that are not in World or InterCon.
Through a given month, there are 4 developmental matches that are 8-way eliminations, usually labeled A, B, C, D. The first ones eliminated are placed “on Hiatus” for the next month. The winners have a chance at being relegated up (see Singles Relegation later).
On Hiatus Division
This isn’t really a true division as they have only one match. 8 Wrestlers will compete in a Battle Royal where the Top 4 will get relegated up to Developmental (see Singles Relegation later). The rest of the wrestlers not selected will be benched and not see any action. Too bad, so sad.
Tag Teams
At the time of this writing there are 26 tag teams. Tag Team matches tend to go longer than a singles match, so we try to have less matches and really focus in on the ones going for a title shot.
Prime Time Division
Why Prime Time? No idea. This division consists of the Tag Team Champions as well as 8 other Tag Teams. The 8 Tag Teams will compete in a small tournament to determine who gets a title shot. The losers of the Quarter-Finals have a chance to be relegated down (see Tag Team Relegation).
Developmental Division
This division consists of 8 Tag Teams that compete in “randomly” assigned Team v Team matches. I say “randomly” because 4 of these teams will be from the relegation losers, they can’t go up against each other. They are split up and will compete against 4 randomly selected teams from those that are On Hiatus.
Winners have a chance to relegate up (see Tag Team Relegation).
On Hiatus Division
These are the rest of the tag teams that either lost their Developmental match last time around or were not selected for a Developmental Match. Selection is purely random.
Relegations
We don’t necessarily want to see the exact same wrestlers over and over again, so we have to do some relegations. Most require a head-to-head matchup where the Winner moves up and the Loser moves down.
Singles Relegations & Match Creation
These cover wrestlers moving within the World, InterCon, Developmental, and On Hiatus Divisions. We will address these from the bottom up.
On Hiatus
8 Wrestlers are randomly selected to participate in a Battle Royal. The selections cannot be someone that just got relegated down as they are marked ineligible for at least a month. The Top 4 in the Battle Royal will be relegated to the Developmental Division where they will be split into Group A, B, C, D. The Bottom 4 cannot be randomly selected as they are marked ineligible for at least a month.
Developmental
There are four groupings labeled A, B, C, D, each consisting of 8 wrestlers.
Group Selection:
- 1 Wrestler is from the Top 4 On Hiatus Battle Royal. These wrestlers are randomly assigned to a Group.
- 1 Wrestler is from the loser of the InterCon-Dev relegation matches. These wrestlers are randomly assigned to a Group.
- The remaining 6 are selected randomly from eligible wrestlers that are On Hiatus.
Match Results: The first one eliminated from a Group Elimination match will be marked ineligible for a month. The winner of each Group Elimination match will compete in a relegation match to get a chance to move up to the InterCon Division.
InterCon Relegation: The winners of Developmental Group A, B, C, D will compete against the losers of InterCon Quarters A, B, C, D. Letters dictate who competes against whom. The winner of each match will be in the InterCon Division next month. The loser of each match goes down to the Developmental Division and is assigned a random division.
InterCon Division
This division is similar to the World Division, however, there is much more movement.
Quarter-Final Losers: These 4 wrestlers face the Developmental Group winners. Winner is placed in the InterCon Division, Loser is placed in the Developmental Group.
Quarter-Final Winners: These 4 wrestlers face the World Quarter-Final Losers where the Winner moves up to the World Division and the Loser is placed / stays in the InterCon Division. If the Champion loses their title, they will take the spot of whoever beat them and will participate in the Relegation matches to possibly move up to the World Division.
New Tourney: When the new Title Shot Tournament is created, the 4 winners from the InterCon-Dev matches are placed in each Quarter-Final and will face the 4 losers from the World-InterCon matches in the InterCon Quarter-Finals.
World Division
This division is similar to the InterCon Division, however, there is only relegation to move out of the division. There’s nothing higher.
Relegation: The 4 World Quarter-Final Losers will take up the 4 InterCon Quarter-Final winners where the Winners will stay / be placed in the World Division and the losers will be moved / placed in the InterCon Division.
New Tourney: When the new Title Shot Tournament is created, the 4 winners from the World-InterCon matches are placed in each Quarter-Final and will face the 4 wrestlers that remained in the division because they won their Quarter-Final matches.
