The Whitby Report – July 26, 2019

Today is Friday, July 26, 2019. I am your host Stone and this is The Whitby Report

Weather:
Whitby’s going to have a nice sunny day; a bit on the warmer side with only a 10% chance of rain. We’re currently sitting at 25° (feeling like 30°C with the humidex) and are expecting to reach a high of 27°C (feeling like 32°C). Get the sunscreen on, grab a water bottle and send the kids outside.

Local News:
Dundas Steet West in Whitby Closed to Traffic After Single-Vehicle Crash This Morning. A pick-up truck struck a hydro-pole at 4:30am this morning, knocking power out for local residents. The driver was charged, however, police have said those charges are not related to impaired driving. Stone’s Take:
So not drunk or high; great. Who was it and what were they charged with? Were they looking at a cell phone? I feel like police would have said something about that. Perhaps he was overly tired? It was 430am after all. Perhaps the driver had a “companion” in vehicle? That would certainly make headlines!
