Weather
We have thunderstorms currently and they are expected to remain during the day and through the night. It’s 21°C, feeling like 24°C and we’re expecting to reach a high of 25°C but it’ll feel like 33°C. That sure is some muggy weather. Thunderstorms and kids in the park will probably result in a child services call, so it’s best to keep those kids indoors today.
Local News
This Friday evening, the Town of Whitby will be holding another Movies in the Park. This is the third of four family-friendly movies the town is holding. This week they’re airing Back to the Future. Come early to Whitby Civic Park (just behind Town Hall) so you can grab a seat up close. The movie starts at 8:30pm.
Stone’s Take
We’ve been to one of these about 3 – 4 years ago. It was a little chilly, so definitely bring some blankets and a comfortable chair. You definitely need to arrive early, otherwise you’re going to be stuck at the back and get stuck with the occasional whiff of cigarette smoke. There was a popcorn and drink vendor during our one visit, so I’m assuming there is something like that too; you should most certainly be able to bring your own snacks.
