Today is Friday, August 9, 2019. I am your host Stone and this is The Whitby Report. This will be my last report for a while as we’re heading out on a road trip. There will be many photos posted to twitter!
Weather
It’s a nice cooler 19°C right now and we’re expecting mainly sunny skies with an increasing chance of showers in the evening. We’re expected to reach a high of 24°C (feeling like 26°C) today. This is certainly not a seasonal temperature, so while it’ll be cooler, it’s going to be really nice out.
Get the kids out. Get the sticks, nets, and ball out and set up a ball hockey game on the tennis courts at your local park. Game On!

Whitby Ranked One of Canada’s Best Communities by Maclean’s Magazine: Whitby ranks 55th out of 415 municipalities and also was ranked 28th best place to raise a family.
Stone’s Take
I’ve said it before: Whitby is a great place to live. I was born and raised as a Toronto-boy but I will never regret my decision to move away from friends and family to this wonderful town. There is a balance of pretty much everything here. It’s superb. To be named as a “Best Place to Live” by none other than Maclean’s is a HUGE deal and really reinforces what most of knew the whole time.
My only real regret is that I wasn’t born here…. and campfires. Let me have backyard campfires!
