We woke up this morning to find that we had gotten a bit of rain overnight. It’s muggy, cloudy, and there’s a bit of drizzle. It’s currently 18°C, however, we’re expected to get up to 21°C (25°C with the humidex). We’re expecting rain for the rest of the day, so I guess today you can’t really send your kids out to the park.

Teen with Replica Handgun Arrested in Whitby Park: Clarington Teen Facing Drug and Weapons Charges. The incident took place on Saturday, however, news of this broke yesterday. The kid is 16 years old, so his name is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The teen had a black pellet gun, 2 cell phones, prescription drugs, and cocaine!
Stone’s Take
Yikes. I wonder if this kid grew up here or just thought he should somewhere away from home so he could deal without his parents or family friends spotting him. Probably the latter. Whatever, the case may be, this park is located just a little north of White Oaks, which we know has had crime issues in the past. I feel bad for the good, law-abiding citizens of the area that need to deal with this nonsense, however, I’m also nervous of the fact that cracking down on a particular area just drives the miscreants to other regions. I certainly don’t want these bozos dealing at my local park.
I wish I had a viable solution to offer up for situations like these.
