The Whitby Report – September 10, 2019

Today is Tuesday, September 10, 2019. I am your host Stone and this is The Whitby Report.

Weather
It was nice and sunny ALL day until mid-afternoon. A sudden downpour hit and was gone just as quickly. It was good for this Whitby man’s new garden. It’s 18°C right now and we’re expecting the temperature to RISE in the evening to around 20°C. We’re expecting a few more showers in the evening and possibly thunderstorms overnight.

Local News
We’re going to look some local politics as I’ve noticed another candidate has been declared for our riding. Canada is going to the polls for our Federal election on October 21, 2019. It will be the second vote for our district as Whitby was split from Oshawa’s electoral district in 2013.

Whitby will vote for a new MP (Member of Parliament) as our current MP Celina Caesar-Chavannes recently left the Liberal party (which she ran for in 2015), sits as an Independent and has declared she won’t be running in the forthcoming election.

The following are a list of the candidates running for MP of Whitby in our coming election. They are listed in alphabetical order by last name. I can’t wait to meet them all when they come to my door. Typically we also get a number of fringe party candidates, however, I do not see any listed on the wikipedia entry for our riding as of today.
