The Whitby Report – September 20, 2019

Today is Friday, September 20, 2019. I am your host Stone and this is The Whitby Report.

Weather
Once again, the weather has been fantastic. It’s been a great end to the summer and my late-to-seed garden is thankful. We had a high of 23°C with intermittent clouds but mainly sunny.

Local News
Durham Police Looking for Vulnerable Man from Whitby. Khemraj Rampersaud, 43-years-old, was last seen in the Byron and Colborne area at around 4pm on Wed, Sept. 18th. He’s described as 5′ 7” with a stocky build, grey and black hair with a full beard.

Stone’s Take
If anyone has seen this person please call the DRPS immediately: Cst. Crosbie at 1-888-579-1520 ext.1825. A person can get pretty far in the span of two days, even on foot. I’m hoping they can find him quickly before anything happens.

I feel like I see these alerts way too late. There was an alert for a missing boy a couple years back that came out really quickly and the whole community rallied at the school to form search parties. The boy was found quite a long way away but at least it felt like we were doing something by helping to search.

After two days, I don’t hold much hope out that he’s nearby but you never know. Check your backyard, side of the house, anything. He could be scared and is holing up somewhere, especially if he’s lost and doesn’t know the area he wound up in.
