The Whitby Report – October 22, 2019

Today is Tuesday, October 22, 2019. I am your host Stone and this is The Whitby Report.

The Garden Report
I had a look at the radishes I transplanted yesterday and saw them wilting. Today it did rain and I’m hoping this is going to reinvigorate them. If not, it will mean we were not able to harvest a single item from that garden. We knew it was going to be a tough, especially since we started so late in the season. The broccoli seems to be completely fine with the lower temperatures, it’s just that they’re running out of time. Hopefully, my inspection of the radishes tomorrow will yield some results.

I can’t help myself. I’m 12 years old. Farts are hilarious.

Local News
Whitby Elects Ryan Turnbull. Just over 69% of Whitby residents voted in this election. This number doesn’t count those that were not pre-registered, so that number is likely going to be higher.

While I’m happy I was able to exercise my right to vote, unfortunately, it seems that since the Liberals only managed a minority government, we will likely be heading back to the polls sometime in the next year and a half. The shortest minority was a year and the longest was three.

It’s good to be able to put this to rest. I’ve unfollowed all the political accounts on both Twitter and Facebook. Congratulations to Ryan Turnbull and thank you to all the candidates for showing your interest in representing our town.
