Last night we returned with the start of a new format and structure for how we’ll be handling competition between our SGWF Legends.
While over the course of this week and a bit of the next, we’ll be streaming / testing out this new format, which means many more streams. Long-term we will be looking at streaming once a week. The actual day of the week has not yet been locked down but the leading candidates are Wednesday during the morning or Monday evenings. Please stay tuned to Discord for news on this. You can go to the #roles-notifications channel and react with the SGWF logo to be added to that role for future notifications.
The new structure of matchups will consist of a 5-week cycle:
Week 1: Assignments. These are to determine which Legends qualify for the SGWF #1C Tournament and which get split off into the Canadian and Hardcore Hello Kitty divisions.
Week 2: Starting off the SGWF #1C Tournament Quarters, running some of the Canadian and Hardcore Hello Kitty #1C matches.
Week 3: Finishing off the SGWF #1C Tournament Quarters, running more Canadian and Hardcore Hello Kitty #1C matches.
Week 4: Wrapping up the SGWF #1C Tournament Semis and Finals, finishing up with the Canadian and Hardcore Hello Kitty #1C matches.
Week 5: Title match show. Champions defend against the #1 Contenders.
The intention here is make every match have a direct impact on who the #1 Contender is and not just for power ranking points. Due to making this change, we won’t be using the power rankings whatsoever.
Additionally, for some folks that have multiple wrestlers, we may be asking some folks to temporarily retire some of them. Once we have completed our test cycle, we’ll evaluate what SGWF Legends we have and what numbers we need. Currently, we’re aiming for 7 or 9 Tag Teams and 33 Singles, however, that is not set in stone. Pun intended. XD
I’m looking forward to getting back into the SGWF and I hope you are too. 🙂
