The Whitby Report – September 23, 2019

Today is Monday, September 23rd, 2019. I am your host Stone and this is The Whitby Report.

Weather
We are coming down off the “last-gasp-of-summer” this past weekend to “cooler temperatures”. Honestly, the weather outside is fantastic! We are currently at 23°C, feeling like 26°C, with a gusty wind coming from the north-west. It’s the cooler wind that is making things feel a little more like autumn today but it’s still really nice out: shorts and t-shirt weather for me.

Local News / Stone’s Take
Not a whole lot in the news other than a Global News report on Whitby for the 2019 Canada Election. In it they talk a little bit about the riding, when it was formed, who our current MP is, why she left the Liberal party this year and provided a list of candidates. Sort of like what we did for The Whitby Report on September 10, 2019.

Todd McCarthy, Conservative

Regardless, nothing has really changed. I’ve only been able to speak with Todd McCarthy, the Conservative candidate, after a bit of phone / email tag. He did come by here but I was busy cooking and then Carrie had her trip to the hospital (yikes, I swear she didn’t get food poisoning from the food, the rest of us were all good!)

I’ve yet to see any candidate from the other parties canvassing here. Hoping they come by relatively soon so I ask them questions about their plans for the area should they be elected.
